Marcus Calloway holds a BFA in Industrial Design from Rochester Institute of Technology and completed the Northampton Shoemaking Fellowship. He spent eight years as a pattern-maker and design lead at Viberg Boots (2012-2020), where he developed lasts, graded patterns, and bespoke runs for heritage collections. Marcus has taught cobbling clinics at the Leatherworking School (MA) and consulted on sole-welt integration and midsole stack specifications for two independent bootmakers in Portland. His specialties include Goodyear-welt construction, last geometry, and archival brand restorations; he documents teardown notes, maker interviews, and fit trials in his product test reports. Marcus's bylines have appeared in footwear trade journals and he maintains a small bench practice producing limited-run heritage boots.
